AADHAR CARD
1.Aadhaar is an individual identification number issued by the
Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) to individuals for the purpose
of establishing the unique identity proof of every single person.
2. The Aadhar number will serve as a proof of identity and
address across whole in India.
3. The main objective of the project is to collect biometric
(photograph, iris-scan, fingerprints) and demographic data of residents
(residence address information), store them in a centralised database, and
issue a 12-digit unique identity number called Aadhaar to each resident.
4. Aadhaar is meant for individuals of any age (including
children) for the purpose of establishing identities.
5. Aadhaar is for individuals, therefore each member of the
family needs to have a separate one.
6. Aadhaar is voluntary based and any individual who is
interested in having Aadhaar number for himself/herself can enroll or apply to
get Aadhaar number.
7. An individual will be provided with only one unique Aadhaar
number and not multiple unique ID numbers.
8. Aadhaar number will be valid for the full life of an
individual and does not need to be changed or renewed from time-to-time.
9. A person can get his/her Aadhaar number free of cost.
10. The Aadhaar number can be used while opening a bank account,
applying for passport, booking e-tickets and many other places
